Christians Richard & Pauline have lived in their 17th century detached cottage in the centre of the village for over 30 years and can give you guidance on your exciting adventure visiting the area of abundance in attractions.  Our local knowledge of seeking out ancient churches and interesting villages and the countryside.  Sherwood Forest is just 15 minutes away by car and the small rural village sits about halfway between London and Scotland and has immediate access to and from the A1 and A57 link roads. 

Tuxford is an ancient Market Town surrounded by lovely, elevated countryside and walks, picturesque villages, and county inns.  The village offers gift and coffee shops, museums, galleries, churches, and a working windmill.  All local amenities including public transport links from the village to Lincoln, Newark and Retford.  The main line train station is just 5 miles away.

Places to visit in less than 30 minutes by car from the village – The Sherwood Forest, The Dukeries, Abbeys, Country Houses & Parks, Garden Centres.  Cafes, Shops and Museums.   Southwell Minster.  The Old Workhouse and the Swan Sanctuary at Taylors Garden Centre.  Rufford Abbey Country Park and Lake.  Lincoln Cathedral, Newark Castle and River Trips.  The River Trent.  Retford Theatre and Kings Park.  The Canal and 3 weekly markets.  The town of Gainsborough and the Medieval Old Hall, Pilgrim Exhibition and Tearoom.  Visit Laxton 3 miles from Tuxford and the Holocaust Centre.  Memorial Gardens.  Book Shops, Cafés and the Lincolnshire Coast is just one hour away by car.
